Manif d'Art offers an audioguided tour of Quebec City

Accompany outdoor works
Manif d'Art is a non-profit organization that promotes contemporary art by local, national and international artists. As part of its annual event, La biennale de Québec, the only winter biennial in North America, it presents the work of over 100 artists. In addition to the various exhibitions, the event offers a host of activities revolving around a central theme, exclusive to each edition.
Public artworks are accessible to all. But when visitors are confronted with a work of art without any context, it's difficult to understand the artist's intentions. For its tenth edition, Manif d'Art has come up with a solution to give visitors the tools to understand the works, while leaving them autonomous in their discovery.
Autonomous audioguided art trail
For the first time in the biennial's history, Manif d'art decided to use the MySmartJourney platform to offer visitors an audioguided tour. The technology accompanies the outdoor works, offering audio and additional information about the work and the artist. Using their smartphones and a pair of headphones, visitors scan the QR codes on the artwork panels and, through audio capsules, let comedians Jack Robitaille and Kevin McCoy tell them all they need to know about the work in front of them.
