A route with great potential

Route 132 is a tourist route known as “La Route des Navigateurs”. Its digital version was co-created by two tourism organizations: Tourisme Bas-Saint-Laurent and Tourisme Centre-du-Québec, and offers 9 different itineraries ranging from 2 to 12 days, with different themes, such as the lovers' route, the flavor route or the cultural route.

Self-guided stopovers

These two organizations had the idea of adding a digital dynamic to the project. At specific points along the route, they installed kiosks equipped with QR codes and NFC chips. During their journey, travelers can access content offered to enhance their experience of this extended territory.

They can learn more about the place where they are, access quizzes, discover anecdotes and unusual facts, and be led to pause their journey to take advantage of activities offered at the stopover point. A Google Map is then used to discover the next stop on the route.

In the Bas-Saint-Laurent tourist region, for example, there's a kiosk in the village of Cacouna, featuring the Port de mer, the Kiskotuk Coastal Park and a culinary specialty. At the end of the page, an action button redirects visitors to a map showing all the stop-off points on the Route des Navigateurs, and the range of experiences available.

Similarly, in the Centre-du-Québec region, at the Saint-Angèle stopover, a kiosk enables visitors to learn more about Les monstres du lac Saint-Paul, the nature of the St. Lawrence, the Rivière Puante and the monsters of the St. Lawrence River. There's also a Google map with links to all the points of interest on the Navigators' Route.
