Pointe-à-Callière enhances its exhibition with a digital quiz

Italianate Montréal
From March 2021 to January 2022, Pointe-à-Callière presents the exhibition Montréal à l'italienne, highlighting the important contribution of the Italian community to Montréal's economic, social and cultural life. The exhibition focuses on the daily lives of the first Italian immigrants, and on the evolution of this community since the Second World War.
Developed at a time of pandemic, the museum institution wanted a form of interactivity in its exhibition, while respecting health constraints. It therefore chose to use the MySmartJourney solution to enhance the visitor experience.
An interactive exhibition in the form of a quiz
To achieve this, the project manager came up with the idea of installing panels enhanced with QR codes and NFC chips. Throughout the visit, visitors were invited to scan these posters with their smartphones and answer questions related to the life of the Italian community. In the form of multiple-choice questionnaires, riddles or even combinations, the integration of a quiz makes discovery unique, attractive and dynamic.
They can find out what the artist Guido Nincheri was nicknamed, what fruits and vegetables were typical of Montreal's Italian kitchen gardens, or what sports were typically popular.
